  • 1.  Zero Options For CMM

    Posted 03-09-2020 02:51 PM
    Good afternoon,
I'll open with a little background.

My Engineering team was at "location A" and they had their own operator (station 750), and location A has their own operator (Station 100).  When you dial to the extensions assigned to the Engineering group, if you went to voicemail and dialed 0, the call was transferred out of CMM to station 750.  If you dial into the main number for location A and went to voicemail, and then dialed zero, your call is sent to station 100.

Well, Engineering has relocated to "location B" and I have them all set except I can't remember how our Business Partner programmed the Engineering stations to zero out of CMM to station 750 at (location A).  I've already deleted the stations and voicemail boxes from "location A."

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

Not entirely familiar with that version of voice mail but there used to be a field called "covering extension" where you could designate the number to zero out to.

    Thanks Brian,
That is exactly correct.  I've tried populating that field with extension 599 (my test phone), but I still get the "extension 599, please wait", then "extension not valid" response.

Crazy thing is, it seems to have started working as desired overnight.  I've checked my change log and I do not see that I changed anything.  i'll mark this discussion complete.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

There may be a system option that restricts transfer to extensions that don't have a mailbox.  It's meant to reduce toll fraud.  You may try adding a subscriber 599 to see if that enables the transfer.
