I am using a VMWare install, where both SAL Agent and SLAMON is installed on the same server. I am wondering has anyone done this upgrade of a ADS 2.0 to 2.5? If so, was it successful and what Avaya manual/guide did you follow to make it work?
I have run into trouble while trying to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.5. Two main problems I ran into:
1 - I tried the upgrade via Attended mode and would get stuck with an X11 Display error and it would appear to just hang (I suspect there is a Java screen that should pop up and have more questions that need answered, but that is not happening). I have tried this from both Putty (With what I thought was the X11 setting turned on, and a XTerm window on another Linux machine I have).
2 - I tried the upgraded via Unattended mode, made sure to have the settings configured for the Unattended mode, and it bombed out saying I needed to answer the license question, which I did in the settings file.
So I am at a loss as to how Avaya really wants this ADS upgraded using their steps, it leads me to believe that the only option is to just start with a fresh .OVA and restore settings, but I really don't want to do that since there could be so much that can go wrong AND it involves another group in my organization that can be hard to get time with.
Any help on how to upgrade this product successfully would be greatly appreciated!
