  • 1.  How to automatically place test calls / email results

I am trying to figure out how we can schedule an automated test of all of our call center phone numbers.  Ideally, we would like some sort of mechanism (either a program/script that runs according to a schedule, or a service we can subscribe to) that would dial a list of numbers to test if the line is working (did it ring and answer correctly?  was there a fast busy or some other sort of error? etc) and if not, would email a distribution list indicating a possible problem.

Basically, we want to be proactive to know when the call center numbers are not working correctly.  Ideally, we would like to make these test calls external to our own switch.

Can anwyone advise how this is typcially done?

    Thank you.

Let me begin  by stating that I'm not an Empirix customer or employee.  They sell tools that will allow you place test calls, script your way through call trees and provide reporting of encountered results.  Their pedigree is from the old Hammer tools, I believe.
