  • 1.  CMS LAN Backup

    Posted 04-19-2013 07:01 AM

I am searched the threads here and do not see it completely covered.  I am migrating from CMS v14 to CMS 16.2  I will no longer have an external tape drive.

The info from AVAYA and frankly business partner are lackluster on the LAN back up.  My business partner has no clue and my AVAYA resources are literally hard to understand due to very thick accents.

Has anyone recently used a folder file share path to do back ups.  We have successfully used this method on CM 6.2 and Modular Messaging.

Anyone with tips or tricks or gotchas...please let me know

I have been investigating this for a while too. From the threads dating back to 2003, I understand CMS backup can be done only over Tivoli.

However the Installation and Maintenance guide says something about LAN backup. I am digging around. I don't have hopes I would find instructions on that. But will post here if I hit gold.

If you refer to pages 159 - 166 of the Avaya CMS R16.2 Software Installation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting.

But this works only on R16.2 onwards.

I was hoping this would work on R14 because I want to network backup R14 and it looks like Avaya recommends but does not support Tivoli.
