I would recommend aliasing it as a 9611SIP. 9608's are limited for the number of lines and features.
So, if the OPS is correct (and if it's point to the ARS table, and the ARS table can get the call to go to the right place), that then opens it up to much more troubleshooting than what we could probably do over the forums..
If you do a list trace, and call the station, do you see anything weird there? Do you see the call making it to ASM?

Also, what type of phone should I have it as? It does not give me an option on CM for J179. Right now I have it as a 9608SIP.

I believe I have that setup correctly.

Most likely the data is not making to SMGR through the SIP link with Communication Manager.
You will want to make sure the phone in CM has an OPS option defined on the "off-station-mapping", and that the trunking information in the OPS line can make it back to ASM.
Otherwise, there are a lot of things involved. John Waber has done presentations at the IAUG conferences in the past about how the entire process works (it's an hour-long sesson on just the PPM/button data exchange between CM -> ASM -> Phone)

We just got 3 new J179s to setup in our lab environment to test for future use possibilities. This is the first time we've setup SIP phones. I can make calls with them and they can receive calls, but there are no features. Anytime I go to features in the menu it gives the error "No features configured for this extension". What am I not doing correct?
