I received a minor POW-SUP alarm with error type 2305 on one of the power supplies in a G650. The error count was 3. The alarm self cleared. A check of the Maintenance Alarm manual gives the description "aux sig lead failure" but there is no further information. An online search did not produce any results. I checked status environment  and the voltage is within tolerance. The board passes when I run test board css long. I didn't run the Power Supply Recycle Test since it is destructive. Can anybody shed some light on this? I don't like mysteries.

All alarms can be investigated and resolved using error logs and Avaya maintenance documentation.

Hardware platform? CM/Aura Software version? IPSI board FW? Hardware achitecture may vary based on config of the Port Networks.

    list ipserver-interface

list configuration power x (x is cabinet)

status environment x (x is cabinet)

    655A power (non-redundant) resides in slot 00

655A power when duplicated resides in slot 00 and slot 15 (one is active, the other is standby)

tn2312 g650 cabinet A and cabinet B if the IPSI duplication is used for the Port Network (one is active, the other is standby)

IPSIs, power units, fan assemblies in each g650 connected together with tdm/lan cables, for all g650 in a Port Network as well as TDM Bus Terminators for the first and last cabinet of the Port Network.

I always try the documentation first. I didn't find any detail on aux sig fault. Is there a better document than the  Maintenance Alarm manual?

output from status environment 2 uses 2A IPSI up through tdm chain 2A to 2B to 2C to 655A in 2C00 and the fan unit in 2C as well as the 2C bus terminator.

Best way to troubleshoot hardware errors is to move the hardware around. With your configuration, most of the hardware can be swapped hot, without service interruptions. Swapping IPSI boards would be last choice, is more complicated. For now, let's just do power units. If you must do something with IPSI, swap active to standby to make the standby the active.

    example:

label these first so you know where they come from. (655A can be tracked by serial numbers)

    swap 655A in slot 2C00 to 3C00

    swap 655A in slot 2C15 to 3B15

check alarms and errors, then clear errors after swapping. Monitor to see if new errors are for original slots or follow the hardware that you swapped.
