  • 1.  EC500 enabled by default, clogs up TraceSM

    Hello IAUG,

We find TraceSM complicated to use when calls are active during the workday, but also, EC500 failures make the trace fill up and most of the time there is no EC500 set up on the off-pbx-telephone station-mapping table.

I've noticed also that System Manager templates have EC500 enabled and that the system given templates can't be modified or deleted.

Does anyone have a work around to disable EC500? We have done this for custom templates, but 80% of our stations have this enabled when there is nothing assigned.

    Thank you

CM does not extend calls via EC500 when there is no cell number programmed so what you're seeing in traceSM is something else.  Can you post a short screen shot?

However, we also use custom templates with EC500 disabled.   This is primarily so we can tell from "status station" the expected behavior without having to also look at "display off station".

If you want to disable EC500 for all stations without an EC500 number programmed, my suggestion is to use a series of ASA exports, report and finally an import to turn it off.

    1. Export a list of all stations to CSV.
    2. Use Excel to remove analog and other stations from the list that can't have EC500 (it's ok if you miss some).
    3. Run a Report in ASA for "list off station".
    4. Filter that report in Excel to just the EC500 stations (i.e. remove OPS and other application types).
    5. Remove the stations with EC500 numbers programmed from the full station list obtained in step 1.  Now you're left with a list of stations without EC500.
    6. Use the extensions from the "stations without EC500" list to setup an ASA Import / Change job.  You'll find the EC500 State column in there and can set it to disable.

This won't change the default behavior in CM nor the SMGR default templates.  So going forward, make sure to use templates that have EC500 disabled.

The ec500 status for stations without ec500 in off-pbx station table has been changed to disabled. We still see the message '403 forbidden', etc. It is coming from AAWG.

Googled the message and came up with https://www.devconnectprogram.com/fileMedia/download/5d4af9e0-7080-40aa-ad36-b47b0ad4fb32.

"During registration and throughout there is a 403 Forbidden (no cellular ext) being sent from AAWG, this is a known issue and this is an issue for all SDK clients including Avaya Workplace."

Hopefully theres a fix as this article is over a year old.
