For those of you using ACO and SMS :

Do you have a data retention policy? How do you enforce it?

    How do users opt-in/out?

When we went live with ACO (August 2023), we didn't enable SMS and are working through the logistics now so that we can enable it.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations.

    Heather,

We went live with ACO in 2022 and did not enable SMS for our users but we did need to come up with a retention policy for our voice mails. The system we use can also manage the SMS messages and may be of interest.

We use a third party software - Ring Clone to manage our VM retention. Ring Clone allows you to set the number of days a message stays in ACO and deletes them after that period. You do need to pay a monthly fee for the service but it was the best way we could find to handle the retention period we wanted.

    I hope that helps.
