Anyone else experiencing intermittently when dialing out on J179 SIP the phone stating that it is "experiencing signal delay" The call still goes out Im just wondering if its something to worry about or is this a know issue

Another issue I have noticed with J179 4.0.10.3.2 is that once the phone has a reboot, The first call you attempt to make there is sometimes one way audio or no audio. If you hang up and dial again it works.

    Thanks

The experiencing signal delay is due to a timer /somewhere/.  I still haven't found out where it's documented, but I think if the phone does not get the signaling that the call is connected within about 1000ms, it displays that message.

In our case, our carrier is 'smart' and won't send us the connected signaling until the call is pinned up -- which in most cases means during the ringing phase we see that message.   For me, I pretty much see the message for every call off-net.

As far as the one-way audio -- we've seen one-way audio issues, but not specifically from a set of phones or firmware.

@Nick Kwiatkowski, is this the post you were telling us about earlier? Because with our ACO users, it's just intermittent and on inbound calls. Nothing about the first call that is made. If this is not the post, can you point me to the right one? Thanks brotha!

I am happy you posted this. I have opened tickets with Avaya and our carrier, which is the same as someone else mentioned that the carrier waits till ringing to send SDP. It takes about 3 to 4 seconds. I have searched high and low for the setting - has anyone found where to modify the timer on the J179s?
