  • 1.  Avaya R8 SBCE - Using LDAP for the EMS/AAA Single Sign On

    Posted 03-25-2020 05:04 PM
    Hello -

I am wondering if anyone on here has had any success getting single sign on working on the Avaya SBCE (Through the EMS, using LDAP)?

Like every other product I have worked on from Avaya regarding LDAP Integration, they give you JUST enough info to fumble your way through it, but it's never enough. Then they leave large portions out on how it "Really" works, and it appears the SBCE is no different.

We have set it up using the same LDAP Bind credentials and settings found on our System Manager and AADS (Which work fine), but the EMS still bombs at logging a user in. I am suspecting maybe there is either a filter setting I am not fully understanding on the SBCE/EMS OR how you have to create the user is not as straightforward as one would seem.

Just hoping someone has had some success and implementing this.

    Thanks,

    James,
Have you made any progress on this?  I'm going to be approaching this in May timeframe.  In Avaya's defense, how else can they keep their Professional Services teams working than obfuscate information?  You'll notice that their Application Note on Implementing Remote Worker in R7 SBCE conveniently leaves out any of the certificate steps.  :-)

Hi James, I'm also interested if you made any progress here, I'm looking to try and achieve the same thing, and sure enough, there's just not quite enough information that i can find to make it work!

I would love to say that I have made any meaningful progress on this, but due to project load and other items outside of my control, oh and a complete LACK of any real meaningful documentation on this feature, I can't say that I have.

I have some knowledge in this area when it comes to System Manager, but for some reason EMS/SBC throws all that knowledge out the window and, even though the fields seem straight forward they are nothing like that.

I think the most frustrating thing is, there is like no Logs to look at why the authentication piece fails.

I hope to pick this back up at the beginning of 2022 - but if anyone here has tackled this and would be willing to share, and maybe even do a brain storming session I am all eyes (or ears) :)
