  • 1.  Intermittent no audio on calls

    Has anyone else experienced an issue where on incoming external call when answered neither party can hear audio.

    Caller hangs up and calls back and then there is audio. 

    Appreciate any thoughts/ideas around what could cause.  Its happening on workplace and deksphone (less often on the deskphone).  So far not happening on internal calls that we can tell.

    Hi Lori

    Not sure if the calls coming in are mobiles.  Sometimes mobile callers, depending on the provider, it can be intermittent. 

    This is something I do, at the start of the day I do refresh of the workplace app, wake it up, and sometimes that helps.   

    When it comes to the softphone application, I find some users who use the workplace app, sometimes the right headset connection is not properly connected for speaking and hearing.

    Hi Lori,

     

    I had a similar issue at a different company on our SIP phones (9608, etc.). After lots of head banging, we found out that we needed to roll back the phone firmware.

     

    We also found that our Cisco switches needed a lot of maintenance. The network team had to get them up to a new release. 

     

    Not sure which was the true root cause, but they are working.

    We also found that our Cisco switches needed a lot of maintenance. The network team had to get them up to a new release. 

     

    Not sure which was the true root cause, but they are working.

    I ran into this type of issue before and it turned out it was due to a network path which went out on one link and came back on another.  ONce the network engineer changed it so it went out and back on the same link everything worked fine again.

    Thanks so much for the input.  I'm investigating all of these.  The network path could very well be part of the issue as we've recently moved to a new SD-WAN and perhaps a routing adjustment is needed.  Thank you.

    We're also having a lot of issue routing to mobile devices where it wont' connect to users mobile properly.
