  • 1.  Have you attended ENGAGE before? What's your favorite memory?

    The first year I attended conference was in 2013 in Orlando, FL at the Gaylord Palms Resort.  I was a new chapter leader, and everything was exciting and new to me.  The educational experience was more than I could ask for with so many sessions to pick from and attend.  The conference center and hotel were huge and a city all on their own.  I made some great friends who I look forward to seeing each year I get to attend conference.

    I have many memories from my first experience, but I think my favorite was the time spent getting to know the local to my area AVAYA and vendor sales teams in a social setting.  Getting to know them outside of business helped to forge some great relationships I still have today.

    Last year was my first year at Avaya ENGAGE, and what a conference to remember! The energy of the event and the strong community of IAUG members were amazing; the general session and breakout sessions were enlightening, educational and entertaining; and the parties and receptions were a wonderful time! 

    While there were many great stories, memories, and friendships that formed over the event, my favorite memory was our former board President Brenda Emerson and her husband, Robb, belting out a duet of "Midnight Train to Georgia" at a partner event on Bourbon Street! 

    Never a dull moment at Avaya ENGAGE! Look forward to seeing you all in Austin!

    I have been attending since my first conference in 2007.
    There are so many great memories.  A couple that stand out for me were when Mike Eruzione was our keynote speaker.
    He was the captain of the 1980 US hockey team that was featured in the movie "Miracle".  Loved hearing his inspiring story about overcoming odds.   The other is dancing at the "Glass Cactus" in Dallas with other IAUG members. Good times!

    My fondest memory, was when the convention was in New Orleans in 2004. This was before it was called ENGAGE and the Users Group was called the International Definity Users Group, which then became the International Alliance of Avaya Users.

    I am not sure how it was arranged ;) (remember this was New Orleans) but we paraded down Canal Street (During Rush Hour) several blocks to the Avaya sponsored appreciation event. It was a full blown Mardi Gras style parade. There was a band, we were given beads to thrown to the locals who were waiting for buses, etc. while we had the road closed. We had fun but the people trying to get home from work were not very pleased.
