Ammended - 96X1 settings file is what I am working on and this is for remote worker phones who connect via their ISP. Options 242 is not viable:

I am trying to find a way to set a new file server address in the 46x1settings.txt file.  We are currently pointing our phones to a production Utility Server/Services VM where the phones all download their files. The files of course have the specific Proxy address incorporated.  We are switching over to a new Data Center and have a need to change the File server address so that the phones can be pointed to the new Data Center Utility Server/Services.

All of our remote workers have the US IP address manually loaded but we do not want to have all remote workers to manually change the IPs.  We just want to update the settings file with the new proxy addresses along with the new US address, but I am not able to get the new US address changed through the file.  has anyone had any luck in doing this?

Is this the correct section where to make the US address change, because if it is, "it ain't a workin". The phones are retaining their current production IP instead of the new Data Center IP.

Are the phones running SIP or H.323?  If SIP, you'll have to manually change the file server (I.e. the http/https) address.  Going forward, you should use an fqdn for the file server address so you can just update the DNS record.

If the phones are running H.323, look at the NVHTTPSRVR and NVTLSSRVR settings.  These are the equivalent of the httpsrvr and TLSSRVR but force an update to flash storage.  Unfortunately there's no such setting for SIP phones.

They are indeed SIP.  Trying to avoid having to manually re-program 500 phones.  Was honestly thinking that the section pasted above would be the fix to re-IP'ing all of the remote worker phones without having to get all users to do this manually.

I'm in the same boat, wanting to change file server, but don't have as many remote phones.

I put in a Feature Request on the IAUG site to bring the NV settings to the SIP firmware.  Go up-vote it.  Seems like it would be easy for Avaya to implement.
