    Greetings,

So... I just joined a company and was given a project. The project was to "finish" configuring the parameters to the ACCCM and learn to administer it.

Does anyone have any advice on where I should start? What threads and documentation to read? It appears that the ACCCM was configured and installed by a vendor and then I'm supposed to go in and input our system parameters (DID ranges, extensions, agents, etc.) but since I have no working knowledge of the ACCCM, I don't know where to start. Pretty much, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The original team members who were supposed to get this running kind of stopped in the middle of the project. It's been two years out and they kind of forgot everything. So, I'm left with nothing.

I read a thread that linked: www.Avayacontrolmanager.com but that link doesn't work anymore., if there's a new one, I would love to have it.

So, any information and helpt that can point me towards grasping the ACCCM enviornment, how it works, and how to get it going would help.

    I have these Documentations:

    "Using Avaya Control Manager"
    "ACCCM Installation"
    "Configuring ACCCM"
    "Using ACM_71"

But when reading these documents some of the tabs are not present in the user interface. IE: I don't see the  "CFG" tab. Or when I click on "Users" I don't see a any of the tabs that should pop up below it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Joseph,

ACCCM aka ACM just to confuse everybody ☺ is a quite complex product.

You can download the documentation from support.avaya.com based on your version number (you can check it on the GUI just move your mouse to the top left corner where you see the Avaya Control Manager logo)

Also there are several recorded video sessions on YouTube – please search for Avaya mentor channel https://www.youtube.com/user/AvayaMentor/videos

I hope it helps if not please let me know and I will try to assist.

    Regards,
    Tom

Thanks Tom! I'll do what you recommended and post with more specific

When configuring Locations in ACM, it wants you to create a Location first.

    What designates a location?

    - the TN via ASA?

    - the location of your CM?

    - Locations of your various business offices?

It seems like ACM wants you to add locations first. Then attach CMs and CMS to each location later?

Should it be the opposite? Where you have one CM which is the mothership that controls everything? And then you add the various locations to the CM?

    Importing Users and Agents.

What's the point? Why can't you just make the ACM connection to the Communication Manager and all extensions just show up?

In this case, do we have to import every used extension in the Communication Manager to a location or department in the ACM? IE: If I have agents in like three different extension ranges and let's say those Agents serve five different departments, would I have to make sure I know exactly where every department each agent belongs to correctly import them?

Or, can I just do a bulk Agent and user Import to their respective folders?

If I don't import agents or users, can I still modify and make changes to them?

    Which system takes proirity?

Is the ACM synching off the Communication Manager?

Is the Communication syching off the ACM?

Which system is copying or udpating which system?

Or it doesn't matter because they both work off each other?
