I know I broached this subject in the past, but cannot find it in the search.
We are currently using the Avaya 3641 wireless handsets in a number of places across our campus. We inadvertently discovered that although the device is marketed as a 802.11a/b/g/n device, the phone registers as a 'b' client and negotiates a lower rate.for itself, and slows down every other device on the same AP. We then verified this in documentation.
I was tasked at finding a different device and I was quoted a price from our vendor to replace the current handsets with the newest Spectralink 8440 handsets, but the price was cost prohibitive.
I think I remember someone stating that they have used older release of iPhones running the Equinox app on it as an alternative. Am I remembering this correctly, or does anyone have any other ideas os options that you are using to accomplish this?
