The International Avaya Users Group (IAUG) is the largest end user association in the UC and UCaaS world. The group was formed out of three different user groups as Avaya absorbed several of Nortel’s key businesses. This year the IAUG will break with a long standing tradition of late second quarter shows by instead holding its annual event in February. This morning,  Avaya announced that they have voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. The company has obtained a committed $725 million debtor-in-possession ("DIP") financing facility. Subject to Court approval, this DIP financing, combined with the Company’s cash from operations, is expected to provide sufficient liquidity during the Chapter 11 cases to support its continuing business operations and minimize disruption. Effective Oct. 3, 2016, Avaya will begin executing a remote agent push of the SHA-2 software to all customers with Secure Access Link (SAL) 2.0-2.3 gateways. Avaya is doing this to address the SHA-2 security issue described in PSN004539u and to avoid a potential loss of all remote access to your Avaya solution. Customers that have already upgraded to SAL 2.5.2+ will not receive this remote agent push. Customers with SAL 1.x gateways and Secure Services Gateways (SSG) will still need to perform upgrades to the latest release of SAL prior to the Oct. 1, 2016, end of support date or they will lose all remote connectivity when Avaya shifts to SHA-2 security ...
