IAUG Closing Event featuring REO Speedwagon

REO.pngAfter what was one of the most entertaining closing events in IAUG history with the Goo Goo Dolls in 2013, Windstream and IAUG are at it again to provide attendees a proper send-off from CONVERGE 2014.

Cut loose and celebrate with dancing, food, drinks, and music by rock and roll legend REO Speedwagon. With more than 40 million records sold and thirteen Top 40 hits, including the number ones "Keep On Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling," this concert is sure to be a CONVERGE2014 event to remember.

Be sure to complete the survey in your tradeshow coupon book for a chance to win a signed electric guitar! Return your entry to Windstream booth 601 by 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 30 to be entered to win. The winner will be announced at the closing event.

Formed by a group of students at the University of Illinois who would play cover songs at local bars, REO Speed Wagon got their name from a flatbed truck, often outfitted as a fire truck and manufactured by the REO Motor Car Company. The band signed to Epic Records in 1971 and recorded their first album in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Epic released their debut self titled album including the hit single “157 Riverside Avenue.” Since the release of REO Speedwagon's first record in 1971, the band has produced 17 critically acclaimed albums, scored 13 top 40 singles (including two Billboard #1's) and sold over 40 million records. From their electrifying performance at the historic "Live Aid" concert, to President Clinton's 1996 Inaugural Ballroom appearances on the Howard Stern Show, Politically Incorrect with Bill Mahr, VH-1's Rock 'n Roll Jeopardy and The Today Show, to the acclaimed. The band's first live album Live: You Get What You Play For (1977) was certified platinum. After many years of overcoming obstacles with band mates, REO Speedwagon still produced many successful albums. In 2000, they joined Styx for a joint tour. The band is still a big hit and tours regularly.
